I’m still what feels like a million sessions behind on blogging – and I promise to get caught up this weekend, but I couldn’t wait another minute to post some images from this morning’s session.

I meet Kenzie when she wasn’t even two weeks old, and each year I feel so lucky to be able to capture family images for them. This year when mom and I started talking about the session we had something entirely different planned, then she posted a picture of a dress on FB she was buying for an upcoming formal function they are attending, and the wheels started turning. Instantly I went to their gorgeous gown in a field filled with tall grass and pretty light…and well mom was totally on board. I seriously love clients who trust me completely to style a shoot, I promise you won’t be disappointed! Case and point…

To say I am behind in blogging would be an understatement. There are some 10 sessions in que to be blogged…sorry! But I’m working to get the blog caught up, I promise.

Last night I got the chance to do something I don’t usually do. I had a senior session. And a senior boy at that. I’ve known his mom for years (I used to teach at the school she works at) and I actually had this handsome guy in class when he was a 5th grader and I was student teaching. I. am. old.

Dylan is fabulous. Funny, smart, and definitely knows what he likes – the color black ranks high on the like list. He’s got an awesome car that earned him a special picture in last year’s yearbook, a classic he worked to restore with his dad. It was such a fun session…thank you thank you!

I haven’t posted in almost two weeks!! I’ve been quite busy since returning from maternity leave, and I have a lot to blog, but it’s late so just a quick post for now. There are plenty more posts and images coming soon, not to mention four more sessions this week!

Tonight I had some holiday (yes, that’s right, I said holiday) mini sessions. Some pretty cool families came out to see me. Just wanted to share a few from my early session – it was approximately a million degrees with the humidity, and this sweet family didn’t complain once – note the long sleeves and jeans! I hope your evening at Six Flags was fun, thanks for coming out!

I had the pleasure of meeting with Austin and his parents last night. Austin plays baseball with my youngest brother, and soon he’ll be a big brother himself!! He’s really excited to meet his sister…almost as excited as mom and dad I am sure. They are working like crazy to get A’s room done before her arrival…could be any day now! I can’t wait to get my hands on that sweet little one and her amazing pink nursery…see you all soon!

Most days it feels like I just gave birth yesterday…everything is still so new. New baby smell fresh out of the bath, figuring routines, sweet baby snuggles and great big boy hugs. It is busy and slow all at the same time. Then today I woke up and realized that my sweet littlest man in now 7 weeks old. SEVEN WEEKS! How is maternity leave flying by so fast, and how can I make it slow down? Seriously, if you have the answer, please email me. Please!

I’ve enjoyed seeing my clients for sessions here and there…and I’ve still got four more sessions during my leave…but I’m loving each minute of being at home with my boys. Trips to the museum, swimming lessons, pool time, gymnastics, arts & crafts…doing the total stay at home mom thing and having so much fun!

Well, kind of. I have 7 adorable baby planners who are reaching milestones while I am on maternity leave (through 9/1), and well, milestones can’t wait! So last night I headed out to Grapevine to meet Sophia and her family…she’s sitting now and getting so big! Her head of hair is even better than at birth, if that is even possible! Thanks for braving the mosquitoes and humidity!

I can not believe I am writing this post…how is it that my babyplan triplets are already 9 months old?!?! They were amazing this morning for their shoot – almost two hours of shooting, three outfits changes, and lots of funny noises and peek-a-boo to keep their attention.

Dad, I know you’ve been waiting to see some of these…your key dangling paid off!

I was so excited when the mom of these adorable brothers called for a fall session…I’ve been photographing them since the littlest guy was about 10 months old, and now at two he is cuter than ever!! Big brother was quite the charmer today, flashing smiles and playing games…he loved climbing all over the trains! These little ones are special here at MZP…the kindest kids and the best mom! Thanks for spending the morning with me…I hope Kountry Donuts was yummy!

Another sweet baby planner has turned one!! I can’t believe how much he has changed since I saw him for his 6 month session…such a little man, totally on the go, bright blue eyes, and this incredible smile! Love! He and his big sister totally had me running and working today…I love those type of sessions…the ones where mom and dad ask at the end, “I sure hope you got something.” And then I get to write sneak peeks like this…and say, “You better believe it…”

I got a call a while ago from an aunt who wanted surprise her sister and brother in law with pictures of their daughter (her niece) for the holidays. I thought it was so sweet, and of course, agreed to do the session. We had our session this morning, and little Miss K could not have been cuter…seriously, can you believe those blue eyes?!?!

If you know this little one or her parents…SHHH…we don’t want them to know before Christmas! Thanks Aunt A and Grandma (special thanks to Grandpa, too…I hear he had a rough night!)!!

My holiday mini sessions are going in full force (yes, I know it is September!!). Today I got to meet up with some favorites from last year…they’ve gotten so big and even cuter, if that is possible!! The kids had a great time playing on the old trains, and the light was so pretty! Thank goodness the sun returned!

There are still two holiday session spots and two newborn session spots left, but other than that MZP is completely booked for the remainder of the year. If you are interested in booking your family for this fall let me know!

This morning I had the chance to meet the cutest 6 month old boy, who came all the way from Houston to see his extended family! Mom contacted me a while back about doing a family session for them while they were in town, because some of their other family had recently had pictures done with me…how could I possibly turn down those big brown eyes and sweet ringlets?!?!

I also got some great help today from this little man’s grandparents…thank you! Grandpa is a photographer – and it was awesome to talk shop with him! Thanks for doing all the crazy faces and dances behind me…it meant I didn’t have to!

Enjoy your party this weekend…I am sure the family is going to be head over heels for sweet L!

This gorgeous mom to be was just glowing last night! You can just see how excited she is about the birth of her first child, a daughter, in a few short weeks! I can’t wait to meet her either! We were so pleased that the sun made its appearance for a bit so that we could shoot outside as well…just beautiful light last night! Thanks so much to grandma for tagging along along and being my assistant, I really appreciate the help!

I was supposed to meet sweet Olivia last Tuesday but the rain washed us out…today looked like it might to the same, but it turned out to be perfect just 30 minutes before her session was to start. We met in downtown Grapevine…full of all kinds of nooks and cranies that I love! Olivia could not have been happier – seriously, I don’t have one picture of her looking at me that doesn’t include a smile…and those three little teeth just melted my heart!

Got to meet up with Grant and his parents this morning for a session celebrating his 2nd birthday! I can’t believe how big he is getting – I first had the chance to photograph him when I was just starting out in 2007, when he was about 4 months old. Now, he is a walking, talking, gorgeous little man! He wasn’t too sure about spending time away from mom during the shoot, but he loved the toy gun I brought, and playing peek-a-boo got me some great smiles. Love him! Happy {early} birthday Grant!

I love this kid! I was lucky enough to get the chance to photograph him twice last year…and I was so excited when mom called to get his three year pictures done! He has grown up a ton, he doesn’t look like a baby at all anymore…he is definitely a boy now! And this fall he’ll become a big brother – I can’t wait to meet the newest family member!
