I’m still what feels like a million sessions behind on blogging – and I promise to get caught up this weekend, but I couldn’t wait another minute to post some images from this morning’s session.

I meet Kenzie when she wasn’t even two weeks old, and each year I feel so lucky to be able to capture family images for them. This year when mom and I started talking about the session we had something entirely different planned, then she posted a picture of a dress on FB she was buying for an upcoming formal function they are attending, and the wheels started turning. Instantly I went to their gorgeous gown in a field filled with tall grass and pretty light…and well mom was totally on board. I seriously love clients who trust me completely to style a shoot, I promise you won’t be disappointed! Case and point…

I’d like to introduce you to the newest babyplanner.

Meet 9 day old Blake. Seven pounds of perfection.

Slept for the entire 2 hours I was shooting. Amazing.

Still just about a week shy of his due date, he’s already made quite the impression on mom & dad, and I am thrilled to spend the next year capturing all the little things that make him unique.

Another gorgeous morning at the Arboretum…four gorgeous families captured! Just had to share two little ones from today…

Miss McKenna has never had her own session, she’s always shared the spotlight with her sweet brother Riley (a recent babyplan graduate). Today was her day to shine…

And then there’s Harper. She was my spunky one today, making sure I remembered she was there as I tried to capture her twin brother and big sister too! Mom and Dad were troopers…chasing kids should really be an Olympic sport.

I met this family almost one year ago. The girls had just come home the NICU and were ready for their close-up. They were 14 weeks old and sweet as can be. They were also my first set of newborn triplets to photograph…talk about a workout!

During a recent session with my triplet babyplanners (seen here), I learned that one of the girls from that session almost year ago was sick. Very sick. I emailed their mom, asking if I could come a document the time they have left as a family of 5. There really isn’t any way of knowing how long Piper, their biggest at birth, has left on this Earth and I couldn’t imagine what this family is feeling right now. All I know, is that creating memories through the lens is my purpose in life, and that every family deserves to have their moments captured.

So yesterday I headed out to Dallas to see the girls – now a little over a year old. I couldn’t believe how big they had gotten! Andi and Bella are everywhere – crawling, crusing, laughing, and showing off their two bottom teeth. Piper is in a word…stunning. She has the most perfect Angelina-Jolie-lips and eyelashes that go on forever. I couldn’t stop photographing all the details that make her, her.

If you are the praying type – like me – then please do me the favor of keeping Piper on your heart. And pray for her family, that they might feel God’s hand and find the strength they need during this time. I know I will be.

Mom and Dad, thank you so much for having me out yesterday. For letting me spend the afternoon capturing your girls…your three gorgeous girls.

Today was one of those kind of sessions…the ones I feel in my soul, the ones that will linger with me as long as I live. I’ve known this family “forever,” almost as long as I can remember – and the sweet little red headed 3-year-old is my son’s best friend.

Kim, or Mawmaw as she’s better known is an amazing woman. A lady with more strength and FAITH than anyone I have ever met. And she is fighting an incredible battle. Tomorrow, on her birthday, she’ll have surgery…and she needs all of us to be praying for her, for the doctors, and for her kids.

I know many of you read this blog…so I’m hoping this call to pray will add many more to her prayer chain. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

About two months ago I started following a blog about the Sullivan Family . Nine months ago Sara was diagnosed with breast cancer, at only 28 it was hard news for she and her husband Brad to take, but they chose to follow their faith through Sara’s diagnosis and treatment. They were pregnant, with what they would soon learn was a sweet baby girl…there were important choices to be made about Sara’s treatment during the pregnancy. Again trusting in the Lord they continued treatment and close monitoring of their sweet daughter. For the last three week’s of Sara’s pregnancy she was on bed rest, but it didn’t deter her or her husband Brad’s faith. Their baby girl, Chloe Grace entered the world six weeks early…spent a week in the NICU and then was released so her mother and father could take her home. Sara was able to spend two amazing days at home will Chloe. Brad will tell you it was the happiest he had ever seen his wife. On September 17th Sara began having seizures, which in the hospital were diagnosed as post-partum angiopathy. Four days later, Sara was pronounced brain dead, just a few days shy of her 29th birthday.

Brad and Chloe are adjusting to life as a family of two. She is certainly keeping him on his toes, and she is also an amazing source of strength for him during this time of grief. What amazes me most about this family, is their testament to their faith. Never once during Sara’s 9 month battle did it waver, they were tested when Chloe had to spend time in the NICU, and yet it held strong…and even now as each day passes since Sara went to be with the Lord, Brad’s faith remains steadfast. God has brought a lot of rain into their home in the last 9 months, but circumstances can’t possibly change who they are in Him. What an inspiring and humbling testament of faith.

Brad and Chloe made the trip to Dallas this week, as they will be running in the Race for a Cure in honor of Sara on Saturday, and I had the amazing pleasure of spending the day with them. Capturing sweet 6 pound Chloe, who shares her mother’s eyes, and Brad together. A complete honor. I look forward to capturing Chloe throughout her first year, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives.

Holy beautiful family! I have this client, whose twins daughters are seen here pretty often, who has sent me so many referrals over the last two years…I owe her *BIG* time for this family tonight. I was so excited when they got out of the car, not only are they gorgeous, but they were dressed awesome too!

They needed so little direction, it made the shoot easy, and their images – stunning!! I am so excited to work on this gallery. Thanks for coming out tonight and for totally rockin’ it!

Also, keep an eye on the blog in November. I’ve got some new casting calls that will be announced then!

Walker was back for his next session in the baby plan! This little man is getting so big…I can’t believe it! He is all full of smiles and clearly has mom’s heart – they are adorable together!

Liam’s family met me downtown yeterday for a session marking his 8 month…I love baby planners at this age! He’s moving all around and has this fun new smile that had me laughing the whole session. Thanks to mom and dad for trekking around in the heat…we got some great shots!

Last night I had the honor of traveling to Dallas for a very special maternity session. This family is pregnant with their first child, a boy to be named Jayden, who is due in just six short weeks. Unfortunately Jayden has a serious medical issue that will make it impossible for him to survive after birth. As you can imagine this family is on a very difficult road, trying to soak in every minute they have with their sweet boy while beginning to cope with that fact that he will never come home with them.

Dad contacted NILMDTS asking for maternity images and then pictures of Jayden in the moments after his birth. I was honored to take the call. If you don’t know about this organization, click the link…spend some time reading their site…commit their purpose to memory…and tuck it away in case you ever know anyone who can use our services.

I ask that you hold this family in prayer over the next weeks leading up to Jayden’s birth and in the weeks and months that follow. Your faith in GOD and prayer will give them strength to weather through this difficult time. And to Jayden’s mom and dad…enjoy these moments with Jayden, I look forward to meeting him soon.

I just got back in town, but what a great reason to return…meet little Walker!! At 14 days, he is alert and interested in everything around him…it was so much fun to spend the evening photographing him! Little Liam is growing like a weed, I couldn’t believe it when I saw him at the door today! Four months passes in a hurry, this little man is proof!
