I had the pleasure of meeting with Austin and his parents last night. Austin plays baseball with my youngest brother, and soon he’ll be a big brother himself!! He’s really excited to meet his sister…almost as excited as mom and dad I am sure. They are working like crazy to get A’s room done before her arrival…could be any day now! I can’t wait to get my hands on that sweet little one and her amazing pink nursery…see you all soon!

Yesterday I got to spend the morning with a sweet baby plan baby who is now almost 9 months old! Brooks simply could not be a happier baby…it was all I could do to not laugh at the fun expressions and huge smiles he gave the entire 90 minute session. Happy babies make me love my job just a little bit more. Thanks Brooks for making my day!

Shooting a newborn this close to my own due date was a little scary to schedule…this little man wasn’t even due until later this week! Mom and I have been emailing about his “size”and how they’d be inducing early because he was measuring so “big.” It meant that I wouldn’t have any trouble getting him before my own due date, and I was psyched to head to their house this morning.

You can imagine my surprise when the “big” boy turned out to be barely 7 pounds! Sweet little Brandon was an angel…slept the entire session and totally indulged me. What a great treat for me as a photographer! Thanks mom and dad for having me out today – he is perfect.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Resha and her husband on Saturday morning to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their fourth child, a second boy. He’ll be here in just a few short weeks (one week before I am set to deliver my second boy), and Resha couldn’t be more excited! She’s glowing from the pregnancy, and she glowed when she spoke of her children at home…three different personalities, but three amazing hearts! It sounds like there is a lot to be thankful for in her family…and this little guy will be welcomed with a lot of love!

I can not believe I am writing this post…how is it that my babyplan triplets are already 9 months old?!?! They were amazing this morning for their shoot – almost two hours of shooting, three outfits changes, and lots of funny noises and peek-a-boo to keep their attention.

Dad, I know you’ve been waiting to see some of these…your key dangling paid off!

I love changing up my game a bit to capture adults, you know people who don’t actually run from the camera and can take direction? And I love capturing an engagement session, because without even trying – even when the guy wishes he was somewhere else, anywhere else besides a garden on a Tuesday afternoon – they look so in love through my lens (because really he adores her, just not being photographed).

If you follow this blog, you already know Angela and Danny…well maybe you don’t recognize them, but their son Carter is one of my most adorable babyplanners. And this October I have the honor of capturing their wedding!

Today was nothing short of stellar – Angela is gorgeous, and the girl has a great sense of what kind of clothes photograph best, I mean seriously the cream and turquoise dress is to die for! And even Danny’s perfectly worn jeans (his favorite, from what I hear) were just right for the shoot. I knew when I opened these images it would be impossible to choose only a few favorites to share…and I was right. So Angela, who has been waiting (maybe not so) patiently, enjoy this extended look at today’s session…

I had the pleasure of meeting a family this evening, who is so full of life and laughter it made the session so easy! They are friends with the family featured in the post below – and I love when I get the chance to meet friends of my clients – there is always an instant connection!

What I loved most about this session was that they brought their dog *and* they wanted a family session with their teenage son. I don’t get that often enough, but certainly this time in life is just as important to capture as the moments of early childhood.

We traveled through the Botanical Gardens and then onto the Stockyard to take advantage of the light. G family, I hope you all love these as much as I do! Can’t wait to edit the rest of your session!

Two of my first baby planners have recently turned two…and yesterday I got to meet with both of them to capture this fun time!

Gavin and I explored the Botanical Gardens. He loved the squirrels more than anything, with the water fountains a close runner up! And he was in such a sweet mood and totally indulged me! I can’t believe how much he’s grown in the last year, and how much he looks like his daddy now!

Then I headed over to the Stockyards to see Addi and her mommy! She is spunky as ever, and loved being able to run barefoot through the Stockyard Station! We made a special trip to the candy store to grab a lollipop, and Addi scored two! We were celebrating some very special news…somebody is going to be a big sister!!

Several years ago I met a talented photographer in an online photo group I am a part of, she works all the way across the country and we’ve never had the chance to meet until last night. She came in town to meet her newest nephew – a true miracle baby. Dylan is two weeks old and joins a house full of boys! He is also the little brother of a very special little man.

In June 2008 I was contacted by my photographer friend when her family learned Dylan’s older brother wouldn’t survive birth. I was there the night Rylan was born, to witness the strength of a family as it dealt with the ultimate grief, and to document the moments of his life. It was a life-changing moment for me, and I carry that session in my heart still.

So, you see, Dylan’s healthy arrival is even more joyous than most little ones. He is a true miracle baby, and the final chapter in this family’s story. Welcome to the world sweet boy.

It is really something when another photographer asks you to capture their family. And today I got the chance to meet the newest addition in the Erica Joyce family – sweet 9 pound 11 ounce Pierce. If you don’t know their story, trust me when I say Pierce’s arrival is quite a miracle. You can read all about their story on Erica’s blog.

At 7 days old, mom and dad were sure I was going to have my work cut out for me. Dad tried to get some shots yesterday, but apparently Pierce had some other ideas! After hearing that I wasn’t sure what was in store for me, but he was amazing!! Can you even believe those amazing cheeks and lips?!?

Thank you, Jake and Erica, for having me out today. I loved every minute!
