It’s always bittersweet when a baby planner turns one…but Carter has had quite the year, and I’m so glad I got to spend it with him! I know mom is probably dying for this sneak peek, she’s a self-proclaimed MZP blog stalker…and well this shoot was Thursday, and waiting two days is an eternity, I know!!

Carter’s mama knew she wanted to be out in a field with pretty light, and Carter braved the coldest morning the of year thus far for the session. He loved the tall grass and my chair…he was so sad when I packed it up for the day. He could not have been sweeter for the last session in his year. It’s been a honor capturing his first year. Thank you mom & dad…I just love you all.

She has just turned two, and he four months.

She was one of my first baby planners, and he’s one of my newest.

There was pretty morning light, and amazingly decorated bedrooms.

It was the perfect welcome back from maternity leave.

I was supposed to see my sweet babyplanner, Jase, and his family on Wednesday when the cool front came through, but gloomy skies weren’t really inviting. I am so glad we waited until last night, because the sun was awesome, and a random patch of sunflowers totally made my night!

Jase had mommy and daddy pulling out all the stops…dancing, singing, the hokey pokey, you name it. Dad even went outside to play peek-a-boo and do jumping jacks through the window while I got images of Jase on the bed. Um, Jase may have been a little scared at first when Daddy poked his head around one of the window panes…

All that hard work on mom and dad’s part paid off though…there is a gorgeous gallery coming their way soon!

You remember Gray. One of my sweet babyplanners, who is now 9 months old!

It just is not possible.

Mom and dad seriously rock.

Last week I needed to reschedule when the stomach bug attacked my house. They didn’t mind a bit.

Tonight I made them (highly suggested, lol) that they drive 45 minutes so we could use this amazing location.

It’s about 20 feet from a sandwich shop’s dumpster…you know if case you are looking for it.

Gray worked every bit of the amazing light…I love this kid, and I seriously love him outdoors.

I’d like to introduce you to the newest babyplanner.

Meet 9 day old Blake. Seven pounds of perfection.

Slept for the entire 2 hours I was shooting. Amazing.

Still just about a week shy of his due date, he’s already made quite the impression on mom & dad, and I am thrilled to spend the next year capturing all the little things that make him unique.

You’d think after nearly 20 years in Texas I’d be prepared for August. But every year I live in denial as long as possible…until, well until days like Monday. When its 105 before the heat index. With no wind. At 7 PM.

So, we braced the heat, the glistening skin, and red faces in order to get some adorable shots of Abby, a babyplanner who was ready for her sitting session. She’s still as adorable as ever, starting to favor mom in looks, and has to take everything in before she warms up. She’s got two perfect bottom teeth which she was more than happy to show off, as long as mom and dad were dancing and making funny noises behind me.

Yesterday I got to spend the morning with a sweet baby plan baby who is now almost 9 months old! Brooks simply could not be a happier baby…it was all I could do to not laugh at the fun expressions and huge smiles he gave the entire 90 minute session. Happy babies make me love my job just a little bit more. Thanks Brooks for making my day!

Yesterday I had two sessions. My last two sessions before maternity leave. The morning session was for a sweet one year old babyplanner at the Arboretum (to be blogged in a bit) – it went great, we even beat the rain! Then I headed across the Metroplex for a newborn session in Fort Worth. I’d been waiting on Ben to arrive, hoping he’d beat out my own little guy! His big sister made mom & dad wait 10 days past their due date before making her arrival 21 months ago…and you know her if you follow the blog, sweet Sami was one of my first baby planners back in 2008.

Ben didn’t disappoint. Arriving just two days past his due date, on Mother’s Day. He’s long and lean, with a gorgeous head of blonde hair and blue eyes…just like his big sister. He was perfect for the session. Absolutely perfect…you know except for that small incident of projectile poop that covered my shirt! The incident that caused tears to roll down my cheeks and his mom’s cheeks, that sent Nan for paper towels once she stopped laughing, the uncles to opposite sides of the room, and dad for his camera so he could document the whole scene. Because, after all, it was a funny, very funny.

We finished the session without any problems. Ben was awesome. And then it happened…I totally lost my balance walking down their slick driveway in the rain. You can imagine what it looks like when a 9-months pregnant woman, in a skirt none the less, takes a spill…not pretty. I spent the night hanging out in L&D…getting the all clear to go home about midnight. I’m fine, the little guy is fine, but my knee is less than stellar. Awesome, I know. But it explains the delay in the sneak peek, and the reason this is one session I’ll never forget!

I can not believe I am writing this post…how is it that my babyplan triplets are already 9 months old?!?! They were amazing this morning for their shoot – almost two hours of shooting, three outfits changes, and lots of funny noises and peek-a-boo to keep their attention.

Dad, I know you’ve been waiting to see some of these…your key dangling paid off!

Two of my first baby planners have recently turned two…and yesterday I got to meet with both of them to capture this fun time!

Gavin and I explored the Botanical Gardens. He loved the squirrels more than anything, with the water fountains a close runner up! And he was in such a sweet mood and totally indulged me! I can’t believe how much he’s grown in the last year, and how much he looks like his daddy now!

Then I headed over to the Stockyards to see Addi and her mommy! She is spunky as ever, and loved being able to run barefoot through the Stockyard Station! We made a special trip to the candy store to grab a lollipop, and Addi scored two! We were celebrating some very special news…somebody is going to be a big sister!!

Sweet Carter is 6 months old! I can’t believe how quickly time flies when I am capturing babyplanners! Those big blue eyes are just to die for, and his grin is particularly adorable with his two bottom teeth peeking out. I had such a fun time capturing him in the Stockyards today…and Carter loved playing in the dirt. I was pretty sure mom was going to have heart attack as her sweet (and clean) little man dug his tiny fingers into the dirt, rocks, and leaves found in the bricks on the floor! He LOVED it!

And for the photogs reading my blog, since I always get emails about my settings, these were taken with my 85L. Color images at F1.6 and the B&W at F2.0. Love that lens!

Little B was back today for his 4 month session. If it is possible, he’s even cuter than ever! Those big blue eyes are just to die for, and he was quite proud of himself for holding himself up on his belly! And his laugh…sweet little belly laugh and squeals of excitement!! I loved every minute of hanging out with him today!

I’ve got a handful of boys turning four months old on the baby plan right now, and today I got to meet with the first little guy. You’ll remember Mister G, he was a perfect little guy for his newborn session, and certainly did not disappoint today!

At 4 months, he is smiley, happy, and seriously cuter than ever!! I couldn’t believe how much he looks like his mama! What a fun way to spend the afternoon!!

S&B were back yesterday for their 9 month session! They’ve gotten so big, and so animated! I had a blast capturing them…it was so windy and cold, but they were troopers outside. Then we headed back to their place for some shots in their room, and in their awesome 1st Christmas PJs.

They are so full of spunk…I can’t wait to see them at their 1 year!

Remember this mama? Well today I got to meet the sweet little boy she was eagerly waiting for! He’s six days old, and today was his actual due date. He’s almost 7 pounds of sleepy, soft, smell good newborn…and he was SO good for me! I’m so excited that he is on my baby plan…get ready to see a lot more of him over the coming year!

I noticed several snapshots of mom and dad around the house wearing Longhorns shirts, and while I am die-hard Penn State, I figured a little “Hook ‘Em” was good for this little man.

Dad has an amazing guitar collection, and plays incredibly well (he also owns The Aardvark in FW)…he’s starting Carter out early with one of his other favorites…

There is something about this family shot, I adore…the sweet little kiss from dad, the joy of mom…just a perfect new family…

Having a baby plan means that I get to spend a lot of time with a lot of really cool families, it means watching a little one or two or three through their first year of life, but it also means that those sweet little ones eventually turn one and I really don’t like that part! Miss Sami is the latest baby planner to turn one, and is the first in a line of nearly a dozen you’ll see graduate before the end of the year.

This little love lights up a room…I have quickly become completely wrapped around her finger! Great big blue eyes and the sweetest little smile…plus this girl gives great hugs! Before today’s sneak peek…here’s a little reminder of her very first year…

And her one year shots from today’s session. We started her baby plan at the Botanical Gardens, and mom suggested completing the year there as well…it worked out perfectly! I’m very pleased to say this little one is enrolled on our toddler plan now…so you’ll be seeing LOTS more of her for a long time to come!

Walker was back for his next session in the baby plan! This little man is getting so big…I can’t believe it! He is all full of smiles and clearly has mom’s heart – they are adorable together!

The blog is going to be busy this week – two newborns, a babyplanner turns one, and my first set of holiday mini sessions!! I love this time of year!
