Dallas Fort Worth Texas Photographer Melissa Zihlman bio picture
  • a mom. a wife. an avid penn state fan and vegan.
a lover of dark chocolate and flip flops.

    I want to photograph you,
    your kids,
    your family.
all the little things, that add up to
    big moments in your life.

popcorn.
a favorite snack
for the boys.
it’s extra
special
when they uncover
m&ms mixed in.
the big boy hoards them
until the popcorn
is gone.
the little guy picks
each one out
spilling popcorn
everywhere.
today as the little guy
whimpered because his
candies were gone,
the big boy
reached into his bowl
and pulled one of his
prized m&ms out
and promptly
passed it to
his brother.
be.
still.
my.
heart.

I just love that. Ava will do that with Aiden, too, because she hates to see him upset. Your boys are so sweet.

what a lovely moment to capture!!!

their world | day twenty six | melissa zihlman

as soon as the
last bite
goes into his
mouth,
the little guy
is shouting
“bath, shower, bath”
it is safe
to say
it’s their favorite
time of day.
they race cars,
spray water on
each other,
draw pictures on
the glass.
As I clean up dinner
each night,
I can hear
the laughter,
the hoopla,
the fun…

if you read our family blog, there are a few more snaps from tonight over there…

oh my… cannot believe the cuteness factor here!!

their world | day twenty five | melissa zihlman

they live for
these mornings.
time with
their friends.
they are
l.o.u.d
even louder
than normal
and they
laugh
and carry on.
it’s pretty special
that they get
to play
with kids
they’ve known since
birth.
makes me insanely
jealous
because some of my
favorite people
live
so
far
away.

my grandparents are
the most
amazing
people.
and my boys
are insanely
lucky
to know them.
the little guy
points to their
picture
each morning
“poppi”
“gam-ma”
he says.
the big boy is
always asking
when our next visit
will be.
each Christmas
they get a book
from them.
the last few have been
those great recordable books
from Hallmark.
the boys read them
at least
twice a week
and most weeks
it’s every day.
hearing their voices
makes the miles
seem
not quite
as far.
xoxo
