Love the family photos here Melissa and your narrative. So many people never find out how good they actually have it when it was right there in front of them all of the time. Melissa,
As one mom to another and one whose babies are grown–it is not about the big house–been there, done that.The happiest times were in the smaller spaces where love bounced off the walls–enjoy every moment because God does know us best and only wants HIS best for us–that relationship with Him, and with those He’s given us to love!

Beautifully said!! Once I realized that we were going to be in our current (and very small – 1350sq ft!) house for a long long time, I started feeling happier about it and started LIVING in it. Though we do try to make tweaks to it to make it feel like ours, it is a cookie-cutter starter home after all. And it is HOME

I love this MZ! We, too, felt discontent for a while after getting married but have since realized that we want to spend many years in this small home because it is enough. We’re putting our money where it really matters – back in the community and away for the future. Kids don’t care if your home is big or small. They care that you are there with them. Great post

You are a wonderful mother, an amazing photographer, and a terrific friend. The things that you accomplish on a daily basis put the rest of us to shame in a good way. So keep breathing. Dirty houses, rumpled clothes, unbalanced dinners – happy kids, memories made, promises kept. One thing I started last year during Rich’s football season was Friday night carpet picnics – PB&J sammies, cut into heart shapes, sliced fruit, and goldfish crackers for a dinner picnic in the living room. Messy? Um, yes. Worth it? You bet. Love you lots, listen to your mother.

Brought some tears! With carter sick last week, all I was worried about was using my precious sick days at work. I had to stop, breathe, and remind myself about what was more important. So crazy!
