they are both

so ticklish.

but since the big boy

has 15 pounds

on the little guy

it isn’t quite

a fair fight

yet.

he spent all day Friday helping me.

he shopped,

cut labels,

glued circles,

and helped make

the pinata.

he woke up Saturday

so excited.

he’s been waiting for

this LEGO party

since June.

2 o’clock couldn’t come

fast enough.

16 little friends

jumped

on the trampoline,

raced LEGOs

through tubes,

dug in the

sand,

destroyed the playroom,

broke open a

pinata,

ate sweet yummy

after

sweet yummy,

and the big boy

was in

heaven.

tonight

when we tucked him in

he thanked us

for the

best

birthday

he’s ever had.

my heart

is

full.

the anticipation
was almost
too much.
waiting
all day
for his party
to start.
they got an early
lunch
and a movie
to pass the time.
the big boy
was overflowing with
excitement
all
day.
this moment
was the only peace
our house
saw today.

santa did good.
it’s probably
the best
$200
ever spent.
the big boy
is learning
lots.
the little guy
love, loves
that the books
read
to him.
I adore
how they snuggle
close.
