I’ve been
not so
patiently waiting
for this babe
to start sitting,
and now she’s eager
to pull up on everything
and stand
on her own.
she’s growing
like a weed.
so it’s fitting
dandelions filled the field.
oh, emma
you’ve got my heart.

a couple of weeks ago,
this dad reached out.
he asked his wife
what she wanted for
their 13-year anniversary,
her birthday,
and Mother’s Day.
three important events
all happening
in the same month.
she chose pictures.
be still
my heart.
so early yesterday morning
we played in the wildflowers,
fed the ducks,
and captured them
as they are
right
this
moment.
best morning I’ve had
in a long
time.

I met Stephanie
a million years ago.
during that awkward time called
middle school.
and thanks to FB
she’s back in
my life.
for Christmas
she and her sister
gifted their parents with
a session.
all of them.
together.
leaking love and
filling the field with
the echoes of
their laughter.
they were amazing.
all of them.
but especially
sweet parker.
what
a
love.

there’s a
long story
about how
and I
are family,
but really
none of that
matters.
what does matter,
however,
is how smitten
everyone is
with this
little girl.
I mean,
look at her…
doesn’t your heart
just swoon?
mine sure does…

her sweet cousin Novia came along to play too…love them together!

there is a story
about this chair.
it’s part of a twin set.
two chairs
for two sweet babies.
one belongs to her great-Uncle Kent.
this burly man,
with amazing skill
for turning ordinary into
extraordinary art.
the other
belonged to his twin sister
her grandma Karen.
her mama’s mama.
my step-mom.
an incredible woman
who loved life
and her family.
she had the most
infectious laugh,
a smile,
oh, that smile…
savannah is so lucky
to have
such awesome
heirlooms.

and my favorite outtake…see those lion hunters running through the background?!? sweet older cousins who really need to spend more time together.

I’m kinda in love with
this family.
see,
I met brooks when he was still
tucked inside his mama.
and then I was honored
to capture
his first year.
then nolan,
sweet love,
came along
and again
they asked
me
to document his year.
and what a joy
it has been.
what amazing people
these parents are.
how lucky the boys are
to have them.
oh, the honor
the last three years
have been.
