when I first started shooting
in high school,
I owned a small
Canon outfit.
I then,
had a loaner through college,
property of La Vie,
that I used to capture
Penn State football
on the field.
I was using film
regularly
until the big boy was born.
my cameras collected dust
as the DSLRs starting
finding a home on my shelves.
but
I miss
film.
really truly deep in my soul
miss it.
the darkroom,
the look,
the feel,
everything.
I’ve started shooting more film
for personal work
and every time my scans
come back
from RPL
it’s like Christmas morning.

all shot Ash Wednesday. NO additional processing!
Canonet QL17 | Fuji 400H
80 degrees plus
on March 1st.
this week’s weather
has been
incredible.
today,
we picnicked
for the second time
this week.
they ate,
and whispered,
and laughed.
they rolled in
the grass,
played in the
sandbox,
jumped on the
trampoline.
wore themselves
plum-out.
naptime
is
bliss.

three minutes.
that’s all he gave me
to fire off
some images
when we stumbled upon
this amazing
new location.
but I’ll take it.
and where’s
the little guy,
you ask?
behind me
throwing a full on,
people were staring,
the big boy was embarassed,
tantrum.
all because
he dropped his snack
in the tall grass
and couldn’t find it.
never. a. dull. moment.

Susan and I
knew each other
in high school.
she now has a
gorgeous,
God-fearing family,
and she asked
me
to capture them together
as her son
turns one.
it was quite the
honor.
