March 2011 | Green

From Melissa (photo right): March means the start of spring, fat tuesday, St. Paddy’s Day, and Lent. It’s a month of green leaves, grass, and shamrocks. Of remembering the season, and taking time to teach my kids about our Catholic beliefs. It’s one of my favorite times of year, perfect weather, great holidays, and everything beginning to bloom.  I wish Texas could stay like this all year…

From Shalonda (photo left): march means green in so many ways, everything from celebrating st patricks day to celebrating mardi gras.  But march in texas mean green GRASS more than anything else.  its when our lawns start to grow like jungles and we have to head outside weekly, sometimes more, to start mowing.  a drive down any ol’ neighborhood street will be filled with the smell of freshly cut lawns, the music of giggles and ice cream trucks, and driveways covered in chalk, a signature of the little artists running around barefoot on that green grassy paradise.

I met the most gorgeous sisters tonight. Stunning.

The light was perfect,

their clothing just adorable,

and their dispositions…sweet as sin.

It was pretty much the perfect session.

there is just something about twins…

This week, I had the pleasure of traveling to Las Vegas to meet with Danielle and Jeff.  I was so flattered that they liked my work enough to fly me there to capture their love, and that I’ll have the chance to also photograph their wedding in August.

The weather was stunning for this session.  The mountains…amazing.  The couple…gorgeous!  What a fun day for me in Sin City!

Yesterday the first casting call was posted on my Facebook page, I’ll be accepting those entries until Thursday at 9pm.  Casting call two is posted below.

Casting calls are a chance for me to get the ideas that are swirling in my head…out.  To be more creative, to try something new, to do something just for me.  If you, or your child, is selected they’ll receive a mini session with me at the time and place of my choice, receive styling help, and 3 digital files from the session.  It’s really a win win…if you are interested in one of the upcoming casting calls (there will be THREE total this spring), keep and eye on the blog and if you meet the criteria shoot me an email.

casting call TWO: a couple (married, engaged, dating…) in love. a couple who are really comfortable being in love and showing their affection.  a couple who don’t mind the whole world knowing… this couple will be available for a session showing off their love during the golden hour (approximately 6pm) on a WEEKday in April in the mid cities area.
