When I prep for a maternity session, I am always so excited…something about seeing a mother-to-be looking radiant and the anticipation of meeting the little one in a few weeks during the newborn session. Friday’s session was very different…mom and dad are expecting their third child in a few weeks, but sadly this little guy won’t be coming home. He has Potter’s Syndrome (the same condition that also caused the demise of their oldest child six years ago), and unfortunately his prognosis means incompatible with life.
I had the chance to meet mom, dad, and big sister for a very special maternity session. The mood was joyous – as this family appreciates every minute they have to spend with their son. They know this tremendous situation is part of God’s plan, and they remain faithful through it all. It was an absolute honor to be called upon as your memory-maker.

you should hear this little one’s animal sounds – amazing!

I was so thrilled when Candace from Suburban Parent Magazine contacted me for another cover image. You might remember that I had a cover image in February as well. The June issue came out this week, and sweet Grace was chosen for the cover! I adore her, and this image so it was amazing to see it in print today! Thanks so much to Grace’s mom for agreeing to Grace as their cover model and thanks to Suburan Parent Magazine for asking to use my image! Quite an honor. :)
(here’s the cover – I scanned one from the newsstand today!)

If you follow the blog, you know Sami…my adorable babyplanner who is about to turn ONE {gasp!}! Her mom took a Bradley class from the mama of today’s kiddos…what a fun referral for me! Mom has five kids, 10, 7, 5, 3, and 9 mo – seriously the best behaved bunch! It was a lot of fun to scoot around downtown with you all today…hope the rest of your day off from school was great!

Today’s afternoon session was so fun – totally exhausting, but really fun! I often get the chance to photograph newborn twins, but I’ve never had the chance to tackle triplets, so today’s session was really something special for me! The girls were born at 30 weeks and spent some time gaining weight in the NICU…they’ve been home a couple of weeks and are still so petite! The non-sleeper (as I’m told by her parents) slept like a little angel today…her sisters took a little more convincing
Special thanks for Jake & Erica for assisting me today…it was great to have the extra hands!

I finally got to spend the morning with Vinny! We’ve had his 6 month session on the books since April…but nasty weather (twice) and then a visit by an uncle from Venezuela caused us to reschedule this adorable baby planner three times!! It was totally worth the wait though, he is getting so big and his eyes, well they still melt my heart! His daddy even brought his Harley out to the session…it was so fun seeing you all again!
